Things You’ll Realize Your 1st Semester

So I just finished my last day of classes for my first semester in college. And oh man let me tell you how great it feels! I feel like I have freedom now and have no worries. That is except for the 1 final exam that I have next week, but I have a lot of time to study for that which leaves me time to start enjoying my winter break. But by completing my first semester I learned various things. And I would like to share some of these with all of you because I am positive that many of you will discover the same things when you are in college. So here it goes:

• That you need to manage you time. Many people don’t believe this when they enter college but soon learn that its true.
• To make use of the break you have between classes. You will learn that sometimes you will want to use your breaks to work on homework or study.
• Try and listen to the hints teachers give: Every teacher does it!
• Figure out the parking routine! Some colleges parking lots get full after 2 or 3 hours
• You will have to email your teachers a lot to ask them questions. And don’t be afraid to do this! I emailed mine frequently asking about homework problems and assignments that they gave.
• Technology is the new thing!
• Some nights you will have to stay up late
• Don’t get frustrated over things, everyone has the same problems
• Never just give up on an assignment because you think its too hard
• Learn where the good food is at!
• Don’t be afraid to ask parents for money ha
• Enjoy the weekends while you can!
• Don’t take holidays and vacation for granted: Once their over you will be back to your busy schoolwork
• Search online for homework and course help (I did this a lot!)
• Sometimes homework answers are online when you search Google
• Ask questions on Yahoo Answers
• College can be hard but sometimes it can be easy
• You will be extremely thankful that some classes are curved (The average grade of my chem final is a 48%)
• Labs aren't fun anymore
• Any game can be made into a drinking game
• You wont know peoples last names
• Your life changes
• You will hear plenty of stupid crap from people walking around
